Marmalade March at Alf's
Wednesday 1st- Friday 31st
We LOVE Marmalade we do!!!
We’ll be going all orange for the month of March in celebration of the sticky orange stuff.
Kate has been busy bubbling up lots of homemade marmalade including previous award winners and some new, exciting flavour combinations. We’re also sending some off to the International Marmalade Awards, held on 18th & 19th March in Dalemain, Cumbria and keeping our fingers crossed!
We will have our homemade marmalades available for you to try throughout March & if you join us on Tuesdays & Wednesdays we will be offering complimentary toast to top with your favourite marmalade. This year some of our flavours include the famous Award Winning marmalade with Figs, Pine Nuts & Walnuts; Seville and Stem Ginger; Dark Navy Rum & Raisin; Traditional Fine Shred Seville, Mulled Wine Raisin and Seville, Walnut & Whiskey, Dark & Stormy and a new favourite Mojito Marmalade.
We'll also be inspired by all things orange and have orange cakes, marmalade bars and a children's Paddington colouring competition!
All you need is marmalade!
Delicious Dart Trail
Saturday 25th March
We are happy to once again support this unique local event by being one of the foodie stops on the trail!
If you’re a fan of local food, drink and scenic running, it’s time to grab yourself a nibble, pour your favourite tipple, lace up your trainers and read on... The Delicious Dart Trail...a trail running event with a difference.
Starting in Totnes, participants will run across field, coastal path & water (well…using the ferry!) to Dartmouth, sampling a wide variety of the finest local produce along the way.
By the time they reach Dartmouth, participants will have clocked up 15 miles of spectacular riverside trail and tasted more than a dozen different beers, wines, liqueurs, savouries and puddings. An alternative 10 mile route which stops short in Dittisham and includes transportation by ferry to the finish in Dartmouth is also an option. The popular event only has 350 entries available on The Delicious Dart Trail and sold out in two weeks!
Proceeds from the Delicious Dart Trail will go to CHICKS, a wonderful charity which provides respite breaks at its centres in Devon and Cornwall for disadvantaged kids from all over the UK
Come & cheer on the fancy dress bedecked runners!
Love, Love, Mums....bring your lovely mum's in on Mother's Day & we'll give her a complimentary homemade cake!
