Introduction to Hedgelaying

Learn the ancient art of hedgelaying under the instruction of the Torbay Coast & Country Countryside Rangers – we will restore a Devon hedge to put your new skills to practice.

Please bring lunch and suitable outdoor clothes. Equipment provided.

Stoke Gabriel Wassail 2012

Wassail is the traditional cider apple blessing celebration in Stoke Gabriel's community orchard and Church Walk. Folk music, morris dancing, story telling and the Mummers players will entertain the crowds before the lantern procession and Apple Blessing Ceremony within the orchard. Hot homemade food and drink available and a well stocked cider bar.

Child £1.00, Adult £2.50.

Barbeque, home-made pasties, soups and cakes, bar and mulled cider available from 4.30pm.

We'll be having a sausage sizzle, new tasty porridge menu including take away porridge & a pre-schoolers breakfast event.

Charles from Westaways Sausages in Newton Abbot will be sizzling his bangers on Friday morning from 7am....pop in & try new flavours & of course his amazing Hog's Pudding. Get here early though before we eat them all!!
