King Lear - Dartmouth Shakespeare Week at Dartmouth Castle
Tuesday 6th August 2013 to Saturday 10th August 2013

King Lear - Dartmouth Shakespeare Week at Dartmouth Castle
6th - 10th August

This year, our eleventh, we are taking a trip to the darker side of Shakespeare's work, and presenting the play that many believe to be his greatest tragedy, if not his greatest play. King Lear is assuredly dark, yet even this tale of rivalry, greed and lust has its humour.

Every year for last ten years, we have attempted to present Shakespeare in a traditional yet stimulating way that is readily accessible to everyone...even those that that 'don't like' or even 'don't understand' his plays. We are so fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the country and have the most amazing natural stage on which to bring the characters to life.

Tickets available from the Dartmouth Tourist Information Centre
