Does your fish eating experience extend to just cod, haddock, salmon and mackerel? Then the Brixham Fish Market tour is for you, where you'll see over 40 different types of fish at the auctions.

More than £25 million of fish is landed, bought and sold in Brixham and then delivered to many of the top restaurants across the nation and indeed abroad to our European neighbours.


Come along and see the exciting auctions in action, as featured in the recent Sky Atlantic series 'Fish Town'. You will be guided around by Rick Smith, head of Brixham Trawler Agents, who has decades of experience in the fish trade.

After the tour you will then head to the nearby Fishermen's Mission for a delicious full English breakfast.
Booking is essential as places are limited.
Unfortunately children under 14 cannot be accommodated.
Charge £8.00 to include Breakfast and a donation to the Fishermans Mission R.N.M.D.S.F.

Fishstock Brixham, the English Riviera’s annual renowned urban music and seafood festival takes place at the new Fish Quay on Brixham’s picturesque fishing harbour. The one-day event will be held on Saturday, 7th September 2013 with the seafood show running all day and the music show continuing throughout the evening.

A real hit for the whole family, thousands of visitors regularly enjoy tasting the delicious seafood and marvel at the live theatre cooking demonstrations with some of the English Riviera’s most famous chefs. There’s a big music stage with a vibrant programme of live entertainment, visits to working fishing trawlers and heritage vessels on the quayside plus lots of fun activities for the children. There will be local food and drink producers, a wide range of maritime display stands and lots of fascinating insights into the marine environment.

The event is held in aid of the Fishermen’s Mission which overlooks the Fish Market.

Join us for another book club with a twist! In the style of Agatha Christie's Tuesday Night Club, diners will discuss her writing, including Dead Man's Folly, which can be read in advance. Influences from the house and grounds will be explored.

Each year, the English Riviera transforms itself into the murder mystery capital of the country, with ladies and gents in their period finery immersing themselves in tea parties, theatre, dinners on steam trains and vintage bus tours.

Why? For the annual award-winning Agatha Christie Festival in honour of the Queen of Crime, who was born in Torquay in 1890.

The festival is a fabulous occasion for fans from all over the world to congregate and celebrate Dame Agatha Christie’s life and times. Round every corner there is a murder mystery: on steam trains, in spooky country inns, and in rambling seaside pubs. You’ll also find competitions, book launches and other exclusive events.

The official Agatha Christie Theatre Company perform their latest production at the Princess Theatre (2013 is Go Back For Murder) and Poirot is ever on-hand should there be a case or two to solve.

Agatha Christie was a keen sea swimmer and often bathed at Broadsands Beach and nearby Elberry Cove. The Devon Air Ambulance Trust is delighted once again to be running The Agatha Christie Sea Swim, to raise essential funds for the charity.

Are you a keen swimmer?
Why not make a difference and take part in this year’s annual Agatha Christie One Mile Sea Swim. It only costs £20 to enter, although terms of entry is that all swimmers raise £30 sponsorship on top of their entry fee.

Everyone who finishes the one mile swim will receive a goodie bag.

The Totnes Good Food Market is held on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 10am to 3pm. Now in it’s third year, the market is the biggest monthly producers & farmers market in the Westcountry.

Regularly attracting over 50 fine food traders each month, the Totnes Good Food Sunday market has become the biggest fine food and drink market in Devon and is rapidly becoming the largest in the South West.

Totnes Good Food Sunday is now officially the best. Food lovers from all over the region voted for the market in the Annual Devon Life Food & Drinks Awards and at a ceremony held at Sandy Park, Exeter the title of ‘Best Farmers Market in Devon’ was awarded to the TGFS.

Launched in June 2010 with just over twenty producers, the market has grown month by month both in reputation and popularity. It attracts food lovers from all over the region, with three-quarters of its traders coming from within a 30 mile radius of Totnes. The market has also been award-nominated and warranted mentions in local and national newspapers and magazines.

BRNC Volunteer Band Concert for the Dartmouth & District Indoor Pool Trust

Buoyed by the granting of detailed planning permission, the autumn season of Dartmouth Indoor Pool’s fundraising kicks off on Saturday, 28 September at 7.30 pm with the BRNC Volunteer Band is performing in St Saviour’s Church with Phil Watson conducting another ‘last concert’. (Phil previously announced he was conducting his last concert in May of this year, but this time he really means it.)

This award winning band play a varied mix of music from light classical to music from the musical theatre, to marches and is sure to appeal to a wide range of music lovers.

Tickets £8 from Mistral, on The Quay, or on the door.
